Gerry is resident in the firm’s Bangor office. Gerry is a Maine native, raised in Lewiston. He graduated cum laude from Georgetown University (A.B. 1976), and received his law degree from Seton Hall University (J.D. 1980). While in law school he had the opportunity to work for the U.S. District Court in Newark, NJ, and became a courtroom deputy for the Chief Judge, Clarkson Fisher. After law school, Gerry was commissioned as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and spent three years on active duty as a military trial attorney based in Newport, RI. He prosecuted and defended naval personnel before military tribunals and traveled to naval facilities throughout New England, including Brunswick NAS and the communications facility in Cutler, ME.

Following his military service, Gerry returned to Maine with his family and practiced in Augusta, Lewiston, and Portland. He was a partner in Isaacson and Raymond, P.A. for ten years, after which he accepted a position with Hanover Insurance as managing and lead trial attorney, defending its insureds across the state for 15 years. During the last three years, he also represented Hanover’s insureds in New Hampshire.

With over 30 years of trial experience, Gerry has tried scores of cases to verdict. The broad range of his experience has included personal injury, construction defects, property damage, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, economic loss, products liability, and agricultural and industrial accident cases. His practice continues to be focused on trial work in both state and federal courts, with an emphasis on insurance defense. Representative clients have included small business owners as well as large franchise operators, restaurants, convenience stores, potato and blueberry growers and processors, fishermen, inns and hotels, general contractors, bus and trucking companies, and a variety of trades and professional persons. He is admitted to practice in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts and is a member of the ABA, Maine Trial Lawyers, and Maine and NH Bar Associations.

With their children now adults, Gerry and his wife decided to relocate to Mount Desert Island, where they live in Somesville. Acadia National Park surrounds them and they both love the outdoors, hiking, bicycling, canoeing,  cross-country skiing, and tent camping.  Both volunteer for and contribute to Friends of Acadia.
